The Old Campbell County Historical Society Research Room contains much information about Campbell County (1828-1932) and limited information on surrounding counties and states.
Campbell County official records (wills, deeds, etc.) are available in the Research room on microfilm. The society does not have the equipment available to photocopy the records from microfilm. Copies of these records may be obtained from the Georgia Department of Archives & History, 5800 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, Ga. 30260. Phone: 678-364-3700.
Many of the Campbell records have been abstracted and are available on the library shelves.
A vertical file containing information about various families who lived in Campbell County is available to be searched. These files contain donated information from researchers as well as research done by OCCHS volunteers. Some of the files contain information not available in county records, such as Bible records or photographs.
A vertical file containing information about the history of the Campbell County and the surrounding area, as well as current information obtained from newspapers, is available to be searched.
The library shelves have books on family surnames, military information, books and abstracted material on Campbell, books pertaining to other counties in Georgia, and a limited number of books on other states.
An index card file of obituaries is maintained and updated by volunteers. An index card file of surnames being researched by visitors is available.
Maps, newspaper copies of The Campbell News and the South Fulton Recorder and many photographs of the area are kept in the vault, and may be seen upon request.
